HAPPY ST. PADDY'S

My favorite Irish saying;

"May the road rise to meet you,

May the wind be always at your back,

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

The rains fall soft upon your fields,

And until we meet again,

May God hold you In the palm of his hand."

To continue in spirit of St. Patrick, I'll be brief in my comments today. I'd like to pose this thought to all of you who are with companies that have mountains of work to get done, possibly just reduced the head count to a level that is starting stress out the remaining employees and are trying to figure out how you can get through this economic mess and come out the other side poised and ready for the up turn. (Yes I am being optimistic, It's St. Patrick's Day after all!)

The up turn will happen - Will you be ready to take advantage of it? I can provide a low cost strategy that will insure you are. Take advantage of the large talent pool that is open to you NOW. Contrary to what you read and see and maybe feel, this is the time to hire. There is NOT going to be this much stellar talent available or ready to deal again for a long time. Hire them NOW!!
There are ways to pull this off WITHOUT impacting your bottom line, adding the cost of payroll or benefits to your bottom line. Contact me and we'll discuss the many options as I said prior I'll be brief it St. Patrick's Day!!
All the Best,
Timothy Patrick O'Dolan

Yes hiring!! As recruiters we are very sensitive to the economy, job market and employment rate. NOT the UNemployment rate...

In any case check out the new FaceBook and if you are interested in a career in recruiting and live in or around Cooperstown, let's talk.

Who is Cooperstown Search Group?

We are a local Recruiting and Staffing company that has relocated from the shadow of Manhattan to beautiful Cooperstown NY. The complete list of reasons for the relocation are too many to list. However, here are the top three;
  • Family
  • Lifestyle
  • The desire to help people

CSG started two years ago in Upper Montclair NJ as Columbus Associates, llc. and has grown even in these tough economic times. Now as Cooperstown Search Group, Inc., we are starting a new chapter of the business focused on the central NY geography - Albany Metro to Binghamton to Oneonta and all points in between.

We also maintain the core of our business which is national recruiting for emerging high tech companies offering solutions in software, hardware and professional services. The positions we focus on here include sales, pre-sales, consulting and implementation services. Please visit our web site for a more in depth review of our national practice -WWW.MR-CSG.COM.

Please feel free to leave a comment, email me or call me directly. I welcome your input.

Tim.

Welcome to Central NY Job Trends

We are living in unprecedented times with the crisis in the financial and housing sectors, huge deficit spending, and a two front war. However, two things remain constant: the need for hard working, skilled labor and employees looking to improve their careers.

Even in those industries most affected by the current turmoil, there continues to exist a talent shortage. Outside of these areas where growth is still very strong, this need is even greater. Some of the sectors that will continue to struggle meeting their employment requirements include engineering, healthcare, utilities, and transportation. Attracting and retaining top professionals will take a significant amount of time and creativity. Unless the hiring needs are met, many of these companies will be forced to put off expansion and lose lucrative contracts.

Candidates entertaining a career change will continue to be very selective. Clients must realize this. They are competing for a small pool of talented individuals. Keeping the hiring cycle short, having an attractive marketing plan, and being effective communicators with both candidates and recruiters will greatly increase the chance of successfully landing the next allstar. Candidates need to be aware of the hiring process. Setting appropriate expectations lessens the chance of turning down what could have been an incredible opportunity.

In summary, the current job market is much better than most think. While certain sectors will continue to struggle, the need for talent in many industries is still very great. We will weather the current economic storm and be stronger because of it.

All the best,
